Dr. Mary Perkinson, Assistant Professor of Violin & String Education, and Dr. Matthew Brooks, Director of Orchestras, joined UNMC’s Dr. Sarah Holstein in Grand Island, Nebraska for her annual presentation to the Central Nebraska Multiple Myeloma Support Group.

Dr. Holstein, a flutist in the Nebraska Medical Orchestra and leading expert on multiple myeloma, presents annually to this group of patients, patient advocates, and area physicians on new research, updates from national conferences, and available studies/trials at UNMC for patients with multiple myeloma. The addition of the flute, violin and piano trio was meant to share the mission and reach of both the Nebraska Medical Orchestra and Sound Health programs at UNO/UNMC to patients and health professionals in central Nebraska.

UNO School of Music continues to be a leader in Nebraska with its numerous outreach partnerships with the healthcare community.
