Graduate student Michael Tyree, conducting student of Dr. Matthew Brooks, was awarded Fourth Place (First Alternate) in a national competition for student conductors sponsored by the College Orchestra Directors Association (CODA). Advanced undergraduate, masters, and doctoral-level student conductors from across the United States and Canada took part in the competition. The top three student conductors identified by the competition will participate in a conducting workshop with master teacher Sarah Ioannides at the CODA National Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia in February.
