Graduate student, Michael Tyree, has had his second book of string quartet arrangements published by Hope Publishing Company. This book, titled “String Quartets for Spring,” includes three Eastertide hymns along with three general-use hymns which were carefully chosen and arranged to “best accentuate the idioms of the string quartet, including dance-like rhythms throughout, playful pizzicato, and serene sections featuring harmonics.” J.W. Pepper has selected it as an Editor’s Choice.

Michael, a native of Virginia, recently moved to Omaha to begin the Master of Music degree in orchestral conducting. He serves as the graduate assistant to the UNO Orchestras and is a student of Dr. Matthew Brooks (conducting) and Dr. Mary Perkinson (violin).
