The 7th Fort Duo Fest piano duo festival in Siauliai, Lithuania, organized by Lithuanian pianist Rimantas Vingras, took place from March 12-17, 2018 after a long break. The first piano duo festival in Siauliai in 1993 was initiated by solo pianist Roman Luksius, and every two years the festival was organized until 2003. Included in the rebirth of the festival was the Young Piano Duo Contest as well as masterclasses and performances in neighboring districts. The festival was sponsored by the mayor of Siauliai, Arturas Visockas, and supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania and the Siauliai City Municipality.
The Atlantic Piano Duo, consisting of UNO piano professor Dr. Kristín Jónína Taylor and her husband, Dr. Bryan Stanley, completed the festival with a two-piano and four-hand performance in the Polifonija Concert Hall. Previous to this, they held a masterclass and performance of four-hand music in the nearby city of Pakruojis (the first time westerners had taught or performed in this city), and they were two of four jurors in the Young Piano Duo Contest in Siauliai.
