Dr. Darren Pettit, UNO Assistant Professor of Music Theory and Dr. Patrick Brown, UNO Instructor of Saxophone, were selected through a nationally competitive application process to perform at the 2018 North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The duo gave a world premiere performance of “Sax Thing,” a saxophone duet written by Dr. Pettit and commissioned for the group. In addition to their performance, Dr. Brown also gave a lecture presentation entitled “A Harmonic Analysis of Saxophonist Ralph Moore.”
