Dr. Christine Beard featured as artist-teacher at the Toronto Latin American Flute Festival

UNO Professor of Flute, Dr. Christine Beard returned for her third consecutive residency as an artist-teacher at the 3o Toronto Latin American Flute Festival from April 9-14, 2018 alongside international guest flutists from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil, and numerous Canadian artists. During the festival, Christine taught flute and piccolo lessons, presented a clinic on self-marketing strategies, adjudicated the soloist and international concerto competitions, performed with the TLAFF professional flute choir, and performed on four recital programs featuring music by Latin-American composers. She was also showcased on the festival’s final Gala All-Star Concert as a soloist with the ArsMusica Orchestra  under the direction of Claudio Tarris (Argentina/Mexico) for which she performed her own arrangement of the “Milonga” from Série Sulina II for piccolo and strings by Brazilian composer Fernando Mattos. www.tlaff.ca
