UNO faculty performs at the 2017 National Flute Convention in Minneapolis

University of Nebraska at Omaha Keyboard Faculty, Dr.Kristín Jónína Taylor and Stacie Haneline performed at the National Flute Convention in Minneapolis, MN this July. Dr. Taylor collaborated with Jonathan Borja performing Icelandic composer Thorkell Sigurbjornsson’s Finnskur poki, Kalaïs, and “Siciliano ” from Columbine. Stacie Haneline and Dr. Christie Beard, performed on a recital featuring American Composer, Keith Gates’ music. Dr. Beard has championed Gates’ music through the years and assisted in highlighting Gates’ music at the convention. The two performed Sonatina and Nocturne for flute and piano composed by Keith Gates. A second performance and world premiere of Jay Vosk’s Ramas de plata was featured on a piccolo concert along side Dana Wilson’s, Whispers from Another Time.
