Emily Berry (BM, Music Education) presented at the Honors Symposium on April 12.   Her project “Assessment in the Elementary Music Classroom” outlined the role that assessment activities played in her students’ acquisition of music concepts in a unit on jazz.  She also reflected upon the value of assessment for her as a developing music educator.   Emily has been completing her clinical practice (student teaching) in the Blair Public Schools under the supervision of Kay Dickinson and Chiyo Trauernicht.   Emily will also be honored this week as the outstanding graduating student in music education.
