On April 6, Dr. Shelly Cooper received The Maestro Award from the Fred Fox School of Music at The University of Arizona in recognition of her outstanding work with her students. This award is given annually to a faculty member.  In commenting about the award, her University of Arizona colleague Dr. Tami Draves wrote, “As she leaves us, this is a fitting recognition of her influence across Arizona in her many years as a Preschool-Doctoral Student educator.”

Dr. Cooper will join the UNO School of Music faculty this summer teaching in the Kodály certification program  She will begin her role as Coordinator of Music Education this fall.
