Music educators from more than six school districts throughout the region attended the Great Plains Orff Chapter workshop that was held at UNO on Saturday, April 2nd.   Clinician Joyce Stephansky from Fairfax, Virginia presented a four-hour workshop entitled It’s Elemental: Orff Schulwerk Strategies for the Classroom.  Beth Gunderson, music education sophomore said, “This workshop shared creative strategies for teaching canons, ostinatos, and movement. These ideas are transferable to any age or objective, which I found to be extremely helpful in my development as a music educator.”  Dr. Melissa Berke currently serves on the executive board of this organization.
