Steven Pruss, BM Violin (expected 2025), won the Cherokee Symphony (Cherokee, IA), concerto competition with movement 1 of the Sibelius Violin concerto. Steven will perform the movement with the Cherokee Symphony in May. Previous concerto engagements have included performances with the Omaha Symphony, Hastings Symphony, Orchestra Omaha, Cherokee Symphony Omaha Area Youth Orchestras.

He is a member of the UNO scholarship string quartet (violin, 2021; viola, 2022) and currently serves as concertmaster of UNO's Heartland Philharmonic Orchestra. He performs frequently as a freelance musician throughout the greater Omaha metro and most recently performed in Lincoln Symphony's Boston Pops concert with maestro Keith Lockhart and with the Eagles' Hotel California tour.
Steven has attended Brevard Music Center (NC), the Summer String Institute(IN), Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory (CO), and Rocky Ridge Music Center (CO). Steven has studied with Manuel Ramos, Marjorie Bagley, Anne Nagosky, Erin Aldridge, Caroline Chin, Jessica Mathaes, Yang Liu, and currently studies with Dr. Mary Perkinson at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
