
School of Music violinist and Music Education alumna Yedid Maya, was accepted into the JET Program – Japanese Exchange and Teaching Program. She will serve as an Assistant Language Teacher and will be co-teaching with a JLT (Japanese Langauge Teacher) in English language classrooms.
She will be teaching in Tottori-shi, Tottori-ken (Tottori City in the Tottori Prefecture)
Ms. Maya graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Music: K-12 Music Education with a concentration in violin, where she studied with Drs. Perkinson and Smola. Most recently she earned a Certification to teach the Suzuki Method and the O’Connor Method and has trained under Ruth Meints to teach the String Sprouts Curriculum.
She is currently crossing her fingers that COVID border restrictions in Japan will lift and she will be able to begin teaching this Spring.
