Praised by Troy Paolantonio, program chair of the 2021 MidAtlantic Flute Convention (MAFC), for being “wonderfully genuine, human, approachable, delightful, solidly virtuosic, and skilled” and for “being a light in our community in ways no one else can,” UNO professor of flute, Dr. Christine Beard was invited by the Flute Society of Washington to lead a clinic entitled, “Develop a Singing Piccolo Tone” at the 2021 MAFC, held virtually due to COVID. Over 100 attendees tuned in to Beard’s live Zoom session on Saturday, February 20 to gain insight and tips on how to improve their piccolo skills from the internationally acclaimed piccolo expert.
