Two UNO flute majors were recently selected by competitive audition to perform in masterclasses for distinguished professors at the Juilliard School (NY) and Longy School of Music at Bard College (Boston).

Paúl Loja Prado, currently an MM flute performance major at UNO, was accepted to perform for iconic American flutist Carol Wincenc (Professor of Flute at the Juilliard School) during a masterclass held on December 5, 2020, for which he was coached on the “Ballade” by Frank Martin.

Sophomore flute performance major, Paige Michaud was accepted to perform in three masterclasses during the virtual “Flute Day” held by the Longy School of Music at Bard College on December 12, 2020. She will receive coaching and feedback on three works she is currently preparing for an upcoming competition: the Sonata by Walter Piston, the third Sonata by Philippe Gaubert, and the fourth Sonata by Anna Bon.
