UNO Faculty featured in virtual New Jersey Flute Fair

The 2020 New Jersey Flute Fair took place as a virtual event on Sunday, October 18, for which UNO faculty members Dr. Christine Beard, flute and Stacie Haneline, piano were invited to participate in two of the day’s events.

The Beard-Haneline duo performed American composer Gary Schocker’s Sonata No. 4 (2019) for piccolo and piano, which was slated as the finale on the NJFF’s Newly Commissioned Works recital. Additionally, Beard also performed “Hall of Ghosts” (2020) for solo piccolo by American composer Amanda Harberg featured on the NJFF’s “Music by Women Composers” concert.

Though registration for the NJFF was required to view the entire festival, the Newly Commissioned Works concert is available to the public at https://youtu.be/T51QvKNS3pU(Beard/Haneline’s performance begins at the 38:45 mark).
