Hannah Fisher has been selected to present at the 2021 MTNA conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
Hannah is a junior music education major and studies piano in the studio of Dr. Kristín Jónína Taylor. Her presentation is titled “LGBTWho? Affirming LGBTQ Students in the Music Classroom,” and was inspired by research from the Trevor Project, which found that the presence of one accepting adult in the life of an LGBTQ student reduces that student’s risk of suicide by forty percent.
Hannah is a member of the UNO chapters of the Collegiate Music Teacher’s Association, the National Association for Music Education, and Kappa Kappa Psi, a national honorary band fraternity.
