Olga Smola receives Outstanding Music Direction award at the 14th Annual Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards

In Spring 2019, Olga Smola served as a music director, an actress and violinist for the production of Indecent at BLUEBARN theater. During the 2 hours play 3 musicians (one of them was UNO alumni Samuel Bertino) were constantly on a stage acting, dancing and playing all the music from memory.

Indecent took home NINE Omaha Entertainment & Arts Awards, including Outstanding Music Direction (Olga Smola and Hal France) and Outstanding Drama. Congratulations!

Indecent is a play by Paula Vogel which explores of immigration woes, anti-Semitism and homophobia. It recounts the controversy surrounding the play «God of Vengeance» by Sholem Asch, which was produced on Broadway in 1923. The cast of the original production was arrested on the grounds of obscenity.

The play was nominated for three Tony Awards in 2017 and won 2 of them.
