The Beard-Haneline Duo (Christine Beard, flute and Stacie Haneline, piano) was invited to perform a recital at the 2019 Chicago Flute Festival on Saturday, November 9, 2019. The program, entitled “Piccolo Planet: Piccolo Premieres from Around the World” showcased new music for piccolo by Exequiel Mantega (Argentina), Osvaldo Lacerda (Brazil), Derek Charke (Canada), as well as American composers Nicole Chamberlain, Gary Schocker, David Loeb and Bonnie McAlvin. While in Chicago, Dr. Beard was also invited to give a guest performance of Peruvian music for flute/piccolo at the University of Illinois-Chicago for students of Dr. Mariana Stratta Gariazzo.
