Dr. Derrick Fox conducts ACDA National Honor Choir
This fall, 1200 middle school/junior high students from around the country submitted auditions for the National ACDA MS/JH Honor Choir. The choir was comprised of 300 students representing 45 states. Dr. Fox led rehearsals for 4 days concluding the week with two performances, with held one in the world class Kaufman Center in Kansas City. Prof. Stacie Haneline was selected to be the collaborative pianist for this prestigious choir.
Dr. Fox conducts All State Choirs in Wisconsin, Hawaii and Alabama
Dr. Fox conducted a 100-voice choir comprised of students selected from colleges and university around Wisconsin. While in Hawaii, Dr. Fox led 430 hundred high school singers representing 5 islands in 3 days of rehearsals culminating in a performance of diverse choral repertoire and hula dancing. The Alabama All State Choir is a highly competitive auditioned ensemble for high students from around Alabama. Dr. Fox led 300 singers in rehearsals for 3 days and concluded the week with a performance on the beautiful campus of Samford University.
Dr. Derrick Fox leads professional development in South Carolina and North Dakota
Dr. Derrick Fox was invited to headline state music educator conventions in South Carolina and North Dakota to lead choral pedagogy and best practice sessions for teachers. In each state, he presented three sessions related rehearsal techniques, educator self-care and assessment.
