Congratulations to everyone who participated in the concerto/aria competition on November 28, 2018. At the conclusion of the night, two winners were announced:
The 2018-2019 Aria Winner is Alexandria Plumb
Student of Professor Shelby VanNordstrand
Mozart: “Come scoglio” from Cosi fan Tutte
The 2018-2019 Concerto Winner is Tianyu Luo
Student of Dr. Washington Garcia
Shostakovich: Piano Concerto No. 2, Mvt I
Both students will solo with the Heartland Philharmonic Orchestra next semester. The two guest judges, Dr. Diana Fiore and Dr. Barron Breland, were very impressed with all of the student performances.
