The UNO Faculty Jazz Ensemble performed at the fourth annual Kearney High School Jazz Clinic on Tuesday, November 9, 2016 at Kearney High School. The ensemble consisted of UNO Jazz Faculty members Patrick Brown, alto saxophone; Darren Pettit, tenor saxophone; Jason Johnson, trumpet; Barry Ford, trumpet; Pete Madsen, trombone; Brad Thomson, guitar; Mark Misfeldt, piano; and Andy Hall, bass. UNO music majors filled out the ensemble including Beth Gunderson, baritone saxophone; Luke Annis, trombone; and Brandon Armstrong, drums. The ensemble members served as guest artists and clinicians for a day of clinics, masterclasses, sectionals, improvisation workshops, and performances. The event took place at the brand new Kearney High School which just opened in August, 2016. The UNO Faculty Jazz Ensemble christened the beautifully appointed and acoustically magnificent auditorium with the first ever jazz concert in the sparkling new facility.
