
The University of Nebraska at Omaha Symphonic Wind Ensemble has been selected to perform at the 2016 Nebraska State Bandmasters Association (NSBA) Convention in March 2016. As UNO’s premier concert band, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, has developed an exemplary reputation throughout the country for its exceptional performances of high quality traditional and contemporary wind literature. Comprised of some of the most outstanding musicians on campus, the ensemble performs an average of five concerts a year including the annual BOCH Festival Concert.
The ensemble will perform on Saturday, March 5 at 11:30 a.m. in the Kimball Recital Hall on the campus of University of Nebraska – Lincoln. The performance will include works by Steven Bryant, Gustav Holst, Arturo Márquez, J.S. Bach, and will feature Professor Shelby VanNordstrand on an arrangement of Ára Bátur by Sigur Rós. SWE is conducted by Dr. Karen Fannin, Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Bands.
