Dr. Pete Madsen has received a grant from the Nebraska Arts Council to fund a residency by drummer/percussionist Joey Gulizia. There is a strong outreach component to the grant where Mr. Gulizia joins Dr. Madsen to go into the local schools to work with the jazz bands, as well as the Metropolitan Area Youth Jazz Orchestra (MAYJO). MAYJO is a big band made up of talented high school kids that rehearses on our campus.
