UNO CMTA presents at MTNA national conference

Members of the UNO Collegiate Music Teachers Association chapter presented at the Music Teachers National Association national conference in Reno, Nevada in late March.  Their presentation, entitled “Does Practice Really Make Perfect?: Practice Techniques and their Effectiveness” was accepted for the Accelerated Track presentations.

The presentation was part of a 1 1/2 year-long effort by the UNO CMTA chapter to analyze the effectiveness of several popular practice techniques traditionally assigned by music teachers.  The students who presented were Jill Galvin (BM Voice Performance, senior), Anna Renard (BM Piano Performance, sophomore), Joshua Miller (BM Piano Performance, sophomore), and Will Keller (BM Music Education, junior).  The presentation was exceptionally well-attended and enthusiastically received.
