UNO’s faculty flute and piano duo, Christine Beard and Stacie Haneline completed their spring recital tour with residencies at Colorado State University (Ft. Collins) and the University of Wyoming on March 24 & 25, 2023. At both campuses, the duo shared their inspiring program, “There is Always Light: A #flutistactivist Initiative Recital Inspired by the Poetry of Amanda Gorman” featuring music with ties to social, political, and/or environmental justice by Wissam Boustany, Herman Beeftink, Jacob TV, Lithincum Blackhorse, Evan Williams, Eve Beglarian, and Valerie Coleman.

Dr. Beard also conducted flute/piccolo masterclasses at both campuses, and the Duo served as the guest artists for the Wyoming Flute Festival which attracted flute students from across the region.
