Taylor receives Nebraska Teacher of the Year award

UNO Piano Professor Kristín Jónína Taylor received the Nebraska Teacher of the Year award from the Nebraska Music Teachers Association (NMTA) at their 2022 state conference.  

Dr. Taylor has been very active in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) at the national, state, and local levels for many years.  She most recently served on the steering committee for the 2023 MTNA national conference.  She is the President of the Omaha Music Teachers Association and a member of the Southwest Iowa Music Teachers Association.  For NMTA, she served as the Composer Commissioning Chair for several years.  She also has been on the state board for the Iowa Music Teachers and president of the Music Teachers of Northern Iowa.  At UNO, she serves as the faculty advisor for the very active UNO Collegiate Music Teachers Association (CMTA) chapter.
