UNO Piano Majors accepted to prestigious graduate programs

News of future plans of graduating UNO piano majors demonstrate the immense quality of their accomplishments.

Tianyu Luo (BM) will pursue a Masters in Piano Performance on scholarship with Ellen Mack at the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University.  During her time at UNO, she studied applied piano with Dr. Washington Garcia and Dr. Kristín Jónína Taylor, and collaborative piano with Prof. Stacie Haneline.

Seulji Kim (BM) will be attending University of Houston Moores School of Music on a full scholarship for her Masters in Piano Performance. During her studies at UNO, she studied applied piano with Dr. Taylor and collaborative piano with Prof. Haneline.

Marissa Mathia (BM) was awarded a Graduate Assistantship at The University of Oklahoma to pursue a Masters in Piano Pedagogy with Igor Lipinski. Marissa studied applied piano with Dr. Garcia and Dr. Taylor, collaborative piano and piano duo with Prof. Haneline, and organ with Dr. Marie Rubis Bauer.

Yimeng Xu (BM) was awarded a Graduate Assistantship and full scholarship at the University of Maryland School of Music for the Masters in Collaborative Piano with Rita Sloan. Yimeng studied applied piano with Dr. Garcia and Dr. Taylor, and collaborative piano and piano duo with Prof. Haneline. Simon Olivares (MM) was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music to pursue a DMA in Harpsichord with Dr. Michael Unger. Simon studied piano with Dr. Taylor and harpsichord with Dr. Bauer.
