Michael Tyree, who recently graduated with a Master of Music in Conducting, was just appointed Director of Music Ministries at San Carlos United Methodist Church in San Diego, California. As part of a national search, Michael was invited to San Diego to work with both their choral and instrumental ensembles made up of accomplished amateur and professional musicians, even premiering some of his original works. Michael was the first Orchestra GTA at UNO, studying with Dr. Matthew Brooks, where he gained valuable experience conducting the Heartland Philharmonic and the Nebraska Medical Orchestra. Michael has served a number of smaller churches over the years, but he is excited to move to Southern California for this new opportunity leading a wonderfully accomplished and well-supported music program.
