Yimeng Xu was awarded a scholarship to the Collaborative Piano Institute at Louisiana State University which will be in person this summer. This is Yimeng’s second summer to be awarded a scholarship to the Institute. This elite program features collaborative pianist legends such as: Rita Sloan, Kathleen Kelly, Warren Jones, Martin Katz, Jonathan Feldman, and Elena Abend, as well as voice faculty, Dr. Timothy Jones and Dr. Martha Guth.
Yimeng Xu was also accepted into the Puerto Rico Collaborative Piano Institute which will take place virtually. She will compete and participate in masterclasses with her flute partner, Paige Mihaud, from the University of Nebraska Omaha.
Yimeng Xu participates in collaborative work throughout the School of Music with SWE, UNO Choirs, Orchestra, instrumental, vocal, chamber music and musical theater performances. Yimeng collaborates throughout Omaha, Lincoln and Iowa engaging her versatility with vocal, choral, chamber and instrumental musicians.
Yimeng is a piano student of Dr. Washington Garcia and studies Collaborative Piano with Stacie Haneline.
