The UNO Collegiate Music Teachers Association’s presentation, “Mirrors of Positivity: The Importance of Teacher Mental Health,” was accepted to the 2021 Music Teachers National Association conference. The conference will take place virtually from March 13-17. CMTA’s presentation focuses on how teachers can care for and cultivate their own mental health during these difficult times and into the future. Presenters will speak about different mental health strategies, including mindfulness, resiliency, positive self talk, and self-care.
Marissa Mathia (BM Piano Performance), Aida Soria (BM Music Education), Yimeng Xu (BM Piano Performance), Lydia Kirkland (BM Music Education/BA Music Entrepreneurship), and Hannah Fisher (BM Music Education) will be presenting.
