“Nasty Women” Suffragette-Era Recital to Air on October 23

UNO faculty Christine Erlander Beard, flute and Stacie Haneline, piano will team up with UNL faculty Jamie Reimer Seaman, soprano; faculty at the Omaha Conservatory of Music; and the music director of Countryside Community Church, pianist Alex Ritter, in a recital celebrating the Centennial anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which granted women the right to vote. Narrated by Indiana University Southeast’s Dr. Joanna Goldstein, an advocate for this music, the recital – featuring works by Suffragette-era American female composers Amy Beach, Cecile Chaminade, Rebecca Clarke, Florence Price and Ethel Smyth – will be broadcast on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 7:00pm and will be FREE to view at http://www.countrysideucc.org/concerts.
