Dr. Kristín Jónína Taylor performs in Beethoven 250th Festival in Iceland

UNO Keyboard Area Coordinator Dr. Kristín Jónína Taylor performed in the Beethoven 250 Festival in the Salurinn Concert Hall in Kópavogur, Iceland on Saturday, September 19th.  Beethoven composed 32 piano sonatas that span almost his entire life between 1795 – 1827. A whole series of accomplished Icelandic pianists will, during the course of nine concerts in the Fall of 2020, perform all Beethoven’s piano sonatas in recognition of Beethoven’s 250th birthday anniversary.  Dr. Taylor and her husband, Dr. Bryan Stanley, were the first invited guests, performing two sonatas in A Major (op. 2 no. 2 and op. 101).  After their respective sonata performances, Dr. Taylor and Dr. Stanley performed three four-hand marches as the Atlantic Piano Duo.  Because of the pandemic travel restrictions, the performance took place as a video played in the concert hall.

  1. Hola Washington.
