Dr. Matthew Brooks, UNO Director of Orchestras and Music Director of the Nebraska Medical Orchestra (NMO), was invited to speak at “A Night of Vision and Music” held at the Holland Performing Arts Center at which members of the NMO were featured performers. NMO musicians Sarah Holstein, M.D., Ph.D. and Melinda Chen, M.D., along with UNO faculty mentor Mary Perkinson, D.M.A., performed for hundreds of guests as part of the evening’s celebration.

Members of the Nebraska Medical Orchestra were featured again at the Holland Center alongside musicians of the Omaha Symphony. The musicians joined forces featuring Dr. Mary Perkinson as violin soloist and culminated with a combined work conducted by Dr. Brooks.

The Nebraska Medical Orchestra’s next full orchestra performance will be held on Wednesday, August 21 at 7:30pm in UNO’s Christensen Concert Hall. The performance is free and open to the public.
