This fall, Dr. Derrick Fox, Director of Choral Activities, conducted honor choirs in Louisiana, New York, Kansas and Nebraska. Among those ensembles were the Louisiana All State Treble Honor Choir, New York Zone 6 Area All State Mixed Honor Choir, Olathe Middle School Mixed Honor Choir, Frontier Conference Mixed Honor Choir and the Capital Conference Mixed Honor Choir. He has also given vocal clinics with several local high schools as they prepare for local concerts and performance at the Nebraska Music Educators Association Conference.

Dr. Fox also published the article “Assessment in the Choral Rehearsal” in Teaching Music, a national publication produced by the National Association for Music Education. Teaching Music magazine offers music educators a forum for the exchange of practical ideas that will help them become more effective teachers. The magazine includes timely information to interest, inform, and inspire music teachers and those who support their work.
