UNO’s Music & Memory Program brings music majors and the UNO Maverick String Quartet into the community to engage in music performance, listening, and engagement with older adults. Thanks to support from UNO’s annual giving campaign Wear Black Give Back, the program unlocked a $25,000 gift from anonymous donors to support programming and research on music and dementia. During the holidays students participated in music engagement with older adults in memory care and in assisted/independent living at Heritage Sterling Ridge Community.

Program founder, Dr. Mary Perkinson thanks the Heritage Sterling Ridge for their support, the 50+ donors who gave gifts to WBGB, and the anonymous donors for their generous support.
