Pianist Stacie Haneline was honored to be a part of the Robert Owens Centenary Festival September 17 – 19, 2025 at the Glenn Korff School of Music hosted celebrating the life and legacy of this influential African American composer.

Haneline was a featured collaborator with guest artists during the festival. Among these distinguished performers are Kenneth Overton, Darryl Taylor, Donnie Ray Albert, Dr. Louise Toppin, Dr. Byron Jones, and Dr. Jamie Reimer, all of whom are acclaimed for their contributions to education and vocal performance.

The festival spotlighted Owens’ instrumental compositions alongside his renowned vocal works and offered new insights into his artistry and cultural influence. Many of Owens’ instrumental pieces, previously unpublished, were introduced to American scholars and performers for the first time. A featured recital included unpublished vocal works recently discovered in the Owens Archive.
