UNO Alum pursues Orchestral Conducting at Michigan Statue University

Daniel Jaggars is currently pursuing his MM in Orchestral Conducting at Michigan State University where he studies with Octavio Más-Arocas and Katherine Kilburn. At MSU he serves as assistant conductor for the Michigan State University Symphony Orchestra and MSU Concert Orchestra, conducting both ensembles regularly in performance. Daniel also works with MSU’s Musique 21 contemporary ensemble and with the MSU Opera Theater, where he recently assisted during a production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute.

Daniel earned his undergraduate degree at UNO where he studied conducting under Miguel Harth-Bedoya. During his time at UNO, Daniel worked regularly with the University’s orchestras on campus. His work also included off-campus outreach in the greater Omaha community with organizations such as Omaha’s El Museo Latino and UNMC’s Munroe-Meyer Institute.

He has also worked with The Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, and studied clarinet in the studio of Richard Faria at Ithaca College.

He is deeply grateful for the numerous people who have made his journey in music possible.

Congrats on all of your successes Daniel! Proud to call you a Maverick!
