UNO’s Professor of Flute, Dr. Christine Beard has been named a national finalist in 2 categories of the American Prize Competition. Having submitted her recording of “Hall of Ghosts” (2020) for solo piccolo by Amanda Harberg.

The 2nd Place winner in the 2018-19 Professional Soloist Division competition, Beard was named a national finalist for the 2023-24 Instrumental Soloist Professional Division in March 2024, and in June it was announced that she is also a national finalist in a second category: the Ernst Bacon Memorial Award for the Performance of American Music.
