UNO flute students Sofia Cormack (MM 2024) and Erica Wilkins (BA 2024) delivered a well-received performance of “Birds” for piccolo, flute, and alto flute trio by Herman Beeftink at the 2024 Scheherazade Festival in Manhattan, KS.

Celebrating its 2nd season, the chamber music festival’s theme was “Creatures Great and Small” for which all the repertoire had to reflect this theme in either its title or its inspiration. Selected through a national call for proposals, performing artists traveled to Manhattan from across the USA including Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Kansas.
