Vignesh Ganesan is the 2024 UNO School of Music recipient of the Undergraduate Scholar Award from the Presser Foundation. This year, 244 institutions will receive $3000 from the Presser Foundation to present to a nominated student based on demonstrated excellence and contribution.

Vignesh is one of the few artists who plays traditional South Indian Carnatic Classical music on the guitar. Vignesh has performed concerts and toured extensively in India, USA, and New Zealand. He has also released two of his Carnatic guitar albums as a leader – “Soulful Strings” and “Bagayanayya.”

Vignesh plays a wide range of music and is a serious performer of Jazz, Blues, and Fusion music, and has performed with many internationally renowned jazz musicians. Vignesh has composed songs which have the flavours of Indian, Jazz, Latin, and other types of Contemporary music. In May of 2024, he will graduate from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies.
