Lydia Kirkland—a Spring 2023 graduate of UNO Music Education—has been awarded with the National Association for Music Education (NAfME)’s Professional Achievement Award. She was honored in Washington DC on June 25, as one of three collegiate students in the United States to win this award. Kirkland has served as vice president and president of UNO’s award-winning Collegiate Chapter of NAfME and worked with fellow student officers to provide professional development opportunities and social activities for students in the School of Music. This fall, Kirkland will serve as Director of Choirs at Elizabeth High School in Colorado.
Congrats, Lydia!
