Joshua Miller selected as 3rd place winner in 20th Century Music Competition

UNO Piano Performance major, Joshua Miller, was selected as a Third Prize winner based on his piano performance for the 20th Century Music Competition of the Charleston International Music Competition.  Joshua performed George Crumb’s “Dream Images” from Makrokosmos.  The Charleston International Music Competition showcases musical talent from around the globe.

In October of 2021, Joshua was named Alternate Winner in the NMTA Competition. In December of 2021, he was named First Place in the IMTA Auditions and continued on to compete in the IMTA State Competition in March of 2022. He, also, competed in the Charleston International 2022 Winter Music Competition and was awarded Second Place in his instrumental and age category.

Joshua currently studies piano with Dr. Kristín Jónína Taylor. He has participated in masterclasses with Gregory Crowell, Carolyn True, and Robert Satterlee.

Joshua will also be attending the Adamant Music School summer program in July.  Founded in 1942, the Adamant Music School is a community of pianists from all over the world who gather each summer in the Green Mountains of Vermont to study and share in their passion for music.
