The Midwest Kodály Music Educators of America (MKMEA) awarded UNO graduate student Meredith Toebben the Jean Sinor Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship includes a monetary award to offset the costs of further study in the Kodály methodology. MKMEA is one of four divisions of the Organization of American Kodály Educators (OAKE) and represents 13 states.

Toebben is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Bachelor of Music Education) and completed the Master of Music in Music Education degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in May. She is also currently pursuing a Kodály graduate certificate through UNO as well as a graduate certificate in Music Education for Special Needs Students through the University of Arkansas. She is currently a teacher in the Bellevue Public Schools, where she teaches K-6 general music as well as 7th grade choir.
