Stacie Haneline and Dr. Sharon Campbell performed the Nebraska premiere of Julianna Hall’s song cycle, “Beyond the Guarded Gate” at the University of Nebraska Kearney where Dr. Campbell is Professor of Voice and the Assistant Chair. The “Beyond the Guarded Gate” project included women in all 50 of the United States who performed this song cycle throughout the year. The song cycle was inspired by the Women’s March and featured poetry by Pulitzer-Prize winning (1919) poet Margaret Widdemer. Campbell and Haneline also performed works by Samuel Barber, Henry Purcell, Gioacchino Rossini, Forrest Pierce, Seymour Barab and Gwenyth Walker.
